I recently got myself a new PayPal account. I wanted to change my primary email. PayPal said the new email is already in use. When I try to recover my password for the new email that I want to use then the following error message generates: "Sorry, something went wrong on our end. Please try again."

I called PayPal and Verified everything with the customer care, I was told that I don't have balance in my new account, which is strange as I have not used it yet. I just want to free up my email ID which is currently in use with my new PayPal account. Also, I am not getting any kind of support from PayPal whatsoever, only longer and longer wait time to connect to customer care executive.

Any practical solution to this problem?
